MINISTRY TRACKS
SHARED FOUNDATION. FOCUSED PRACTICE.
Every Formation student is grounded in the same larger journey: Scripture, theology, spiritual formation, leadership, Five-Fold exposure, community, and practical ministry. Within that shared foundation, six ministry tracks create opportunities to go deeper into a particular area of service. The goal is not simply to choose a specialty. It is to learn how biblical formation becomes faithful ministry in the places God has called each student to serve.
THE TRACKS
DIFFERENT CONTEXTS. ONE MISSION.
Each ministry track develops a particular area of ministry while remaining connected to the larger Formation curriculum. Students are formed to understand Scripture, lead with humility, disciple others, participate in God’s mission, integrate theology and practice, and serve the Church effectively.
YOUTH & CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
FORMING THE NEXT GENERATION.
This track focuses on ministry with children, adolescents, and young people. Students explore developmental, relational, and discipleship needs while learning to communicate biblical truth, build healthy ministry environments, and help young people follow Jesus.

FAMILY LIFE MINISTRY
SERVING THE HOME. STRENGTHENING THE FAMILY.
Family Life Ministry focuses on the relationships and systems that shape life in the home. Students explore marriage, parenting, discipleship, and family systems to help families grow in health, faithfulness, and Christ-centered relationships.

DISCIPLESHIP & SPIRITUAL FORMATION
HELPING PEOPLE BECOME MORE LIKE JESUS.
This track explores the practices, relationships, and ministry structures that help people grow as disciples of Jesus. Students study spiritual disciplines, small-group ministry, and leadership multiplication while learning to create environments where people mature, are known, and disciple others.

MISSIONS & CHURCH PLANTING
SENT BEYOND WHAT IS ALREADY BUILT.
This track prepares students to think missionally across cultures, communities, and new ministry contexts. Students explore world missions, intercultural ministry, and church planting while developing a stronger understanding of participation in God’s mission beyond familiar environments.

MEDIA & COMMUNICATIONS MINISTRY
TELLING THE STORY WELL.
Media is now a primary environment for ideas, stories, teaching, worship, and Church life. Students develop experience in digital ministry, podcasting, and worship technology while learning how communication can support biblical teaching, discipleship, outreach, and local-church mission.

WORSHIP MINISTRY
THEOLOGY. LEADERSHIP. PRACTICE.
Worship Ministry brings theological understanding together with leadership and practical skill. Students explore the theology of worship, worship leadership, and worship technology to help churches worship with biblical depth, clarity, excellence, and pastoral awareness.

ONE SCHOOL
A TRACK DOES NOT DEFINE THE WHOLE STUDENT.
Formation Institute is intentionally broader than vocational specialization. A worship student still needs theology. A communications student still needs spiritual formation. A youth leader still needs discipleship. A missionary still needs pastoral care. A family ministry leader still needs leadership. The tracks create focus without fragmenting the larger formation experience.

MINISTRY IN A CHANGING WORLD
PREPARED FOR THE CHURCH AS IT IS — AND THE CHURCH AS IT IS BECOMING.
Ministry continues to change in form while remaining rooted in the same gospel. Churches communicate through rooms, screens, podcasts, social media, worship environments, small groups, homes, mission fields, and conversations throughout the week. Formation prepares students to think biblically and serve faithfully within that changing landscape. The methods may develop. The mission remains.
THE QUESTION
WHERE WILL YOUR FORMATION BE PUT TO WORK?
A ministry track gives students a place to deepen their skills, understanding, and practical experience. But the larger goal remains the same across every track: to become a Christ-shaped leader who can faithfully serve Jesus, love His Church, and participate in His mission.
